Cina bonita!Without wasting any time, we boarded another bus on the Panamericana alter the Ballestas heading for Lima; 5hours away. After the ridiculous amounts of time we have spent on buses, a 5hour trip was a breeze! We got into Lima at 5pm and scrambled onto a local bus followed by a minibus for Miraflores. We walked 10 blocks to reach our lodging: our shoulders almost touching the ground from the weight of our backpacks by the time we got there. It was a Friday night and Lima was busy with lights and sounds. We had a scrumptious and greasy dinner at Cafe Cafe. “Look over there. What are they doing?” A large group could be seen congregating at the opposite park.
We strolled over to be delighted by the group singing, swaying and dancing to live music. Old couples in each others? arms. The park lights reflected off their smiling eyes and shadowed their deep wrinkling smiles. Since the start of our travel, we have not indulged in any nightlife and decided to visit a particular bar. Unarmed with our trusty Lonely Planet, we roamed and weaved through the streets. Stopping at a little bar for directions… “Hola. Do you know where is 365?”
We could not hold back our giggles and laughed with them. That night, we did not manage to find the little bar even after asking a helpful policeman subsequently. Instead, we enjoyed a cafe con leche out in the smoggy night. source: traveljournals.net I love this town (Cusco not Puno) The most touristy place in the world Cina bonita!
